EZR2 Highway Class Screed

Overview

The EZR2 achieves flawless paving widths up to 22ft in the 8-foot model and 30ft in the 10-foot, the EZR2 combines many of Carlson’s industry-leading screed features into a rear-mount screed platform. The EZR2 can be mounted to all current 8-foot and 10-foot North American models offered by the major paver manufacturers, as well as able to retrofit to nearly any previous 8-foot or 10-foot North American highway-class paver.

Carlson Safety Edge

The patented Carlson Safety Edge is the contractor’s choice for creating accurate, 30º extruded edges for safer, longer lasting roadways. The only endgate mounted Safety Edge builder on the market approved by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), easily attach to nearly any North American front mount, rear-mount, or fixed width platforms.
LED Blade Light

Roadway work zones are dangerous, and during nighttime operations those hazards can be amplified. The LED Blade Light is the industry’s original LED directional lighting system for mobile equipment. Combining high output illumination with a low profile, directional platform to enhance worker, operator, and motorist safety on nighttime projects. Eliminating glare, shadows and excessive heat, the LED Blade Light.
Joint Density Attachments

Poor density at the longitudinal joint can drastically reduce the lifespan of roadways and can even cause premature failure. Helping to maximize roadway lifecycle, Carlson introduces the 4in High Density Bolt-on and Sideload Endgate Attachment. Available exclusively for Carlson front- and rear-mount screeds, Carlson’s Longitudinal Joint Density Attachments work in unison to produce higher density figures without the need of extra material, pie cutters or stepped joints.
Tapered Notch

Creating safer work zone transitions from existing roadway surface to the pavement, the Carlson Tapered Notch utilizes easily accessible adjustment points for on-the-fly adjustability. Available in 12” and 18” widths. Comes standard with electric heating elements and Y-cables for accessory power.

Two models of compaction sleds can be paired with the Tapered Notch.
• Small Sled, perfect for berm compaction and small applications
• Heavy Sled, able to ballast up to 400 lbs with adjustable 0-3000 vpm eccentric weight vibration.
Bolt-On Extensions

Helping contractors achieve award winning mat quality at wide widths with their front- and rear-mount screeds, Carlson’s wide array of heated bolt-on extensions lead the industry in ease of use and paving performance. Available exclusively for its screed platforms, all of Carlson’s bolt-on’s are constructed of heavy-duty materials, state-of-the-art heating elements, and Y-cables for longer attachment lifecycle, enhanced paving performance and accessible accessory power.
Power Tunnel Kit

The Carlson Hydraulically extendable tunnel extensions are American made and built to last with durable steel parts that are easy to replace if damaged. Its great design allows for easy installation. Since the Carlson tunnel is installed behind the paver instead of on the side it is less likely to be damaged while not in use. It is compatible with most major make and model pavers.
