Jerome team steps up to help Eastern Kentucky flood victims

Thousands of families lost everything last month after historic flooding devastated parts of Eastern Kentucky. For Bryan Ploeg, Group Director of Operational Excellence - IPS, the catastrophe hit close to home.

Bryan's wife, Rhonda, is from Eastern Kentucky and still has family and friends in the area. Compelled to help those in need, Bryan organized a donation drive at our Jerome facility and collected 40 bags of much needed clothing and supplies.

"I want to thank our incredibly generous Astec family for donating much needed items for everyone affected," Rhonda wrote in a note Bryan shared with employees. "Words cannot express how truly grateful I am to all of you. Clean up efforts will continue for the unforeseeable future but providing much needed clothing and other supplies will help many families get started with the recovery process.

"I am very honored that Bryan is a part of such a wonderful work family and community that we call home. Again, thank you, it has meant so very much to me and the people of Eastern Kentucky."

Our employees have big hearts and a passion for helping others. By extending a caring spirit, together we can make a difference in the communities we call home.
