Telsmith, Inc. Celebrates 100th Anniversary

State Senator Alberta Darling presents plaque to Rick PatekMEQUON, WI –  Telsmith, Inc. is celebrating its 100th anniversary as a leading manufacturer of mineral processing systems and equipment. Marking a century of service to the aggregate and mining industry, Telsmith places customer support and innovation at the forefront, while supplying solutions that deliver greater productivity and value to its customers. The company introduced its first rock crushing equipment line to the market in 1906. Today, Telsmith is a key member of the Astec group of companies, recognized as a rock-to-road equipment provider with superior customer service.

Rich in history, Telsmith began when entrepreneurs T.L. Smith and Paul Post foresaw the proliferation of the automobile, the need for better roads, and the growing demand for aggregate. In 1906, they formed the Smith & Post Company as a manufacturer of aggregate processing equipment. (The name was later changed to Smith Engineering Works, and then to Telsmith). Throughout the years, Telsmith built its reputation as a provider of reliable and productive equipment engineered to process more material at lower costs per ton. The company’s ongoing commitment to quality led to its ISO 9001 certification in 1994, and to its inclusion as one of several companies comprising the Astec Industries Aggregate and Mining Group. Telsmith International Headquarters, with its 217,000-square-foot manufacturing facility, is located in Mequon, Wisconsin (near Milwaukee).

In addition to the engineering of fully automated plants and integrated systems, Telsmith’s complete equipment line includes cone crushers, jaw crushers, primary and secondary impact crushers, portable and modular crushing plants, stationary systems, washing equipment, vibrating screens and feeders, and portable and stationary conveyors.
