Roadtec, Inc. announces that a new product, the SX-7 soil stabilizer, is now in available.

The Cat®-powered, 700 HP machine features a 21” cut depth, the deepest in the industry. Used to stabilize the roadbed  before the pavement is constructed, the SX-7 can work in many types of materials from soil to old pavement. With its right-hand flush cut, the machine pulverizes or stabilizes all the way to the curb line. The cut is 102” wide, perfect for three passes on a 24’ wide road. For relatively shallow cuts the cutter is positioned in the housing to provide optimal gradation. As cut depth increase the volume is adjusted in the housing to accommodate throughput for deep stabilization. The turning radius of this powerful machine is only 155” inches in the cut and 0” out of the cut, making it the most maneuverable soil stabilizer available.

The machine features 4-wheel steer and can be controlled via one or both front-wheels, one or both rear-wheels and can also crab sideways. The control console and operator seat swivel 180° and the machine can be operated from the right or left side. The SX-7 rides on four 26.5 x 25 with extra-deep tread and 2-inch sidewalls and has four cutting speeds. Torque to the cutter drum is rated the highest in the industry at over 500,000 pound-force inches in first gear. An optional emulsion and water distribution system is offered.
