Roadtec Takes Steps to Reduce Noise Emitted by Pavers
By switching some of its paver models to Caterpillar C-7 ACERT Tier III engines and by installing sound kits on some models, Roadtec has been able to reduce the noise emissions of its pavers by up to four decibels. Four decibels can be the difference between the loudness of city traffic inside a car and loudness of a power mower up close. Wearing earplugs is a good practice when working around any paver, however the reduction in noise levels of Roadtec pavers is expected to significantly improve crew working conditions.
